Anthropos means human.

Tens of thousands of New Yorkers are without stable housing.

They are our neighbors, our friends, and our family. As New Yorkers, we call on Gov. Hochul, Sen. Schumer, Sen. Gillibrand, and Mayor Mamdani to take immediate action to address this public health and safety crisis.

Across NYC, homelessness means people sleeping in shelters, on subways, or outside in dangerous conditions. It raises risks of illness, violence, and long-term trauma, and makes it harder for families to stay together, keep jobs, and access care. This crisis is shaped by policy choices, budgets, and housing laws.

That is why it is vital to volunteer, support local providers, and regularly contact elected officials to push for legislation that protects New Yorkers and expands safe, stable housing.
